Michael Wade, (Darla's eldest son) graduated as a U.S. Marine in Aug. 2008. During his family visit, Michael went to meet Maverick on Sept. 1st 2008. This day was also
Maverick's first day off stall rest and enjoyed "running" around outside in a paddock! Michael is now in Japan serving as a firefighter for aircraft/personnel rescue.
This photo speaks on it's own and became the anchor of our mission. Facing death and facing life is what our military and these horses know. Standing In The Gap is committed to train these horses to work specifically with military vets.
Each thoroughbred taken in to our rehab and retraining program receives massive amounts of time and energy from our staff. Standing In The Gap wants "the best for the best."
